Holy Humidity Batman
So now I'm in Vietnam.
Like THE Vietnam.
Like in Asia,
Like I flew over Russia to get here...
anyway
I was going to post from China but alas the Chinese government sees fit to firewall all major websites (Facebook, Twitter, Google etc) so even though I'd landed I was still practically cut off from North America. When we finally touched down in Vietenam, my body was just so confused. I slept a decent amount on the plane so like i wasn't exactly tired but there's just something about sitting in a small confined space hurtling through the air at fifty-thousand feet that gets to you after a while.
We got off the plane and the humidity just instantly makes you sticky. Both Jack and I looked at one another because it was the middle of the night and it felt like a hot summers day in Florida.
Because there's two of us traveling and frankly because both Jack and I can afford it we're staying in hotels rather than hostels. It really sounds fancier than it is because a hotel here costs like 10$ a night on average so it's not such a ridiculous notion.
We're staying in the Old Vietnam quarter, were the most authentic cultural experience is according to our guidebooks and the Internet.
Both of us are just about to try and get some sleep even though we're basically a day a head but yes, tomorrow awaits in all its cultural glory.
I'm usually good at adapting to environments so hopefully after a day or two I'll be getting more into the experience of this trip.
For now though I just want to sleep.
