The Airport Wait

Now we wait.

After two months of talking and planning (albeit mostly on Jacks end) we are currently sitting at our gate getting ready to go to Guang Zhou (China.)  From there we have a 5 hour layover before heading to Hanoi, Vietnam.

I feel like everyone has a bit of a different way of handling airports / full day traveling.  Jack for example insists that he can't sleep on planes and so has loaded up every telivison show known to man onto his laptop.

I on the other hand am going to take enough sleeping pills to tranquilize a bull elephant and if that doesn't work I currently have 17.5 hours of Kim Possible on my iPad.

People I've noticed also have different ways of handling boarder security. I personally wish to get through as quickly and efficiently as possible. Don't get me wrong I'm polite and personable but we all know why we're there so I try and keep the small talk to a minimum.  Also I'm low-key scared of authority and these people have the power to lock me in a small room for as long as they want so let's not build the pyre higher than it needs to be.

Jack on the other hand talks a lot when he's nervous so we get into predicaments where we're getting our bags screened by border security and then suddenly the topic of high jacking a plane comes up.  It's like when a cop pulls you over, and you know you've done nothing wrong but he asks if you've had a drink tonight and you just secretly start to doubt your own reality.

But anyway we are safe, waiting at our gate ready to sit on a frankly huge plane for the next 13.5 hours.

Talk to you guys from China
