A Bit of a (Post) Modern Day
Today was a bit of a lazy day. We didn't really have too much on the agenda. On Monday I had wanted to check out the Bangkok Arts and Culture Centre but unfortunately for me Monday is the new Sunday (it's closed on Mondays) so I went back today to check it out. Jacks not too big into walking around art museums so while I was off looking at modern and post modern art he went to get his feet eaten by fish. (I should clarify that this is actually a treatment and that they don't eat the feet they just exfoliate the dead skin).
The Art enter was really neat but not as substatial as other galleries I've been to so the two hour time frame I gave Jack quickly turned into a fourty-five minute time frame. We met up at noon and after us both being super indecisive on what we wanted for lunch ended up eating at Pizza Hut.
The Pizza Hut was actually located in the same mall as a movie theatre and after some quick questions to the usher we bought tickets to go see X-men Apocolypse at four.
(Side note, we paid a grand total of like 90B each which is like three dollars back home .... Blarggg damn you western movie conglomerates)
We burnt the intervening hour and a half just walking around the frankly ridiculous sized mall then went to take our seats.
As a huge X-Men fan I was pretty impressed. As per usual with this franchise there were some pretty corny lines but in some places really excellent examples of visual storytelling. All around I'd give it a 7/10 with a re watch bonus. Basically what I'm saying is that I'd watch it again because it's entertaining and I want to go back in having read deeper into the plot.
I flatly refused to eat fast food again so Jack and I had to taxi back into Khaosan Road (the backpacker neighborhood.) I looked online and there was a super well reviewed Indian place there so we decided to give it a shot. I left not disappointed. It might've been because I burnt my mouth on a drink today but it was super spicy but if your in the area I'd recommend checking out Taste Of India.
We are currently back in the hotel where I shall post this then promptly pass out.
Seeing as all we did was walk around a shopping mall and watch a movie it wasn't a very picture heavy day. But tomorrow it's off to Chang Mai.
