Home Again Home Again Jiggity Jig.

Well today I think I was the tiredest I've been in a extraordinarily long time.
One of the main reasons I couldn't do another airport update is because China's relationship to the internet is like the relationship Iran has to a longterm peace solution (was that too far?  I'm too tired to tell).  Regardless I couldn't check any of my social media during my layover so instead Jack and I metro'ed into downtown Guangzhou and did more or less nothing.  I should explain that if your entering China for less than 24 hours you don't need a Chinese Visa.  They just stamp your passport and tell you to be back before your time expires.

Our flight arrived at 7:30am so when we got into the city basically nothing was open, and none of the stores we tried accepted Visa Cards (which was super lame because after not eating for 12 hours I was, to use colloquial terms, really fucking hungry.)  I'm afraid I may have snapped a bit at Jack but in my defence I'd been traveling for almost a day straight, hadn't eaten anything and was running on about two hours of sleep.  Guangzhou didn't do anything to super impress me anyway.  It was just another large, urban centre with lots of cars and frankly too many people.  Traveling around as I've done for the last month has given me a very healthy appreciation for being a Canadian citizen.  I am very proud to be Canadian, especially when I've now seen a variety of different governing strategies.

(Also, as a side note I'm super, mega, ultra tired while writing this so if the flow / train of thought is off by more than usual you'll know why)

Jack and I eventually made our way back to the Guangzhou airport and ate something for lunch while we waited for our flight.

Then it was time.  The moment we'd been waiting more than thirty hours for.  The time to board our flight and prepare for the thirteen hour flight to Vancouver YVR.

I have to say if I'm impressed with one thing its that China Southern Airline has a rather large selection of inflight movies.  I was just finishing up the movie Argo when sleep hit me like knockout gas.  I awake later and Jack informs me that I had been asleep for roughly seven hours.  He keeps telling me that my spirit animal is a cat because I can honestly sleep anywhere at almost anytime.

Anyway looking at the inflight map we were making excellent time, almost an hour ahead of schedule.  Instead of landing at 11:15 we actually landed at 10:05 which I was super happy about.  There's just something about being in a metal tube several thousand feet above the ground that makes you appreciate large open spaces.

I'm going to post this tonight but I'll probably be going over it tomorrow too make sure I've spelt things correctly etc etc.  Just wanted to give y'all an update.
