On The Road Again

Semi-sleep deprived, drinking a laté and watching the sunrise over YVR I am currently hanging out by my terminal waiting for my flight to Toronto.
If you are reading this and you have no idea what I'm doing or where I'm going let me bring you up to speed.  A year ago I set in motion a process for me to study abroad at an international university.  I was able to select three and out of that process I selected (and was nominated for) an international term at Cardiff University in Whales (United Kingdom).  After months of planning and waiting I am, finally, sitting at the departure gate waiting for my flight.
It's kind of a surreal experience in a way, seeing something you've put a lot of time, effort and money into come to fruition.
Through this sleep deprived stupor I am currently in a blazing excitement.  I am going to be away from Canada for SIX MONTHS (or more).
In all honesty the process of studying at a United Kingdom university was easier for me than most  simply because I'm a UK citizen and thus hold a passport.  I didn't have to get involved with any VISA process or sponsorship application.

I fly now from Vancouver YVR to Toronto YYZ then, after a short layover, I get on the connecting flight to London, Gatwick.  Because she is amazing I am going to be staying with my friend Linda for two days while I get myself oriented in London before heading off to Cardiff on Monday.

Basically, if you've read my travel escapades to Asia you know the way I like to handle flights.
AKA put on some calm music / audiobook and take enough sleeping medication to sedate a horse and hopefully just doze through the entire flight.

I wouldn't say I'm a nervous flier but I just find the entire process easier if I'm not conscious for most of it.

Depending on how board I get I'll update you when I'm in Toronto.
If not, I'll talk to you guys when I'm in Jolly Old London Town.

I'll try and not duplicate post and write for each blog individually but we'll see how that goes.....
